A Review of "Minimum Wet Thickness"

Clean Room Coating Solutions

As the coating industry is being called to be ever-more competitive, there is pressure to run given machines faster and faster. Because of oven constraints, one solution is to run more concentrated fluids. Both efforts may bring the operation to run up against "minimum wet thickness" constraints, which are primarily defined by the capillary number. This paper will discuss these constraints, detail the capillary number determination, and discuss possible paths forward.
