Registration opens for the AIMCAL R2R Conference/SPE FlexPackCon

Registration is now open for the AIMCAL R2R Conference USA/SPE Flexible Packaging Conference (FlexPackCon) 2018 (Oct. 28-31, 2018, at the Wild Horse Pass Resort in Phoenix, AZ).

A collaborative effort of the Assn. of International Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL) and the SPE-Inspiring Plastics Professionals, more than 400 attendees and 80+ exhibitors are expected to participate in the fifth annual joint technical conference devoted to roll-to-roll (R2R) processing and flexible packaging. New this year is an expanded role for the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), which is sponsoring a number of papers.

“Our partnership with SPE and FPA’s increased support will deliver the most complete view of the R2R supply chain, technology advances and best practices,” says Craig Sheppard, executive director of AIMCAL. As a result, he predicts, “Each attendee will take home business- and process-improving information that can be put to use right away.”

The Conference opens with optional short courses on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, followed by a series of three-minute presentations in the Vendor Session. Short course options include a full-day Slot Die Coating Technology course, a morning course on Wrinkling and Spreading or Overview of Solution Preparation and an afternoon course on Winding: Improvement through Science or Static Control. The evening concludes with a Welcome Reception/Tabletop Exhibition.

Monday opens with a series of joint sessions on markets and trends. The remainder of the schedule features nearly 100 presentations organized in four tracks. Topics include Advances in Coating Technology, Materials and Formulation; Flexible Packaging Technology and Business; Advances and Insight into Processing; Regulatory Systems; Advances in Data Analytics; Sustainability and Flexible Packaging; Barrier; New Materials and Packaging Designs; Advances in Web Handling; OLED; Advances in Quality Monitoring; Optical; Trends and eCommerce; Flexible Electronic Technology and Business; and Meeting Market Application Requirements.

The schedule also offers networking opportunities such as the Dr. Bernard Henry Memorial 5K Fun Run/Walk, a golf scramble, cornhole and Farewell Reception.
